Here are some important new procedures Knoxville Food Youth Initiative (the organization that brings the meals we distribute to the community) would like us to share with you as you prepare for Summer Meals: “The FIRST time you come to pick up meals, regardless of the site you go to, all children MUST be present. We will do a visual count of children with you and issue you a car tag that you will use all summer for pick up. Children up to age 18 are eligible for meals. Please note we DO NOT provide baby or infant food. With an issued/displayed car tag, Parents, Legal Guardians, Grandparents and Siblings may pick up meals. Please NOTE: Daycares are NOT eligible to get meals. Daycares have their own program called CACFP which they should utilize.Menus are posted on Facebook each Sunday prior to the start of the week. We are also including a QR code on the car tags that you can scan and it will bring you to the menus.”
If you have ANY questions or need to talk to us about this procedure, you can email us at info@pvilleyi.org
*Please do not try to pick up early.
*we will pass out meals until they are gone. If no-one is outside, it means we ran out for the day.
*Sometimes the bags can be a little heavy. If your teen or child is walking to the church and needs to pick up for their siblings, please be sure to send them with a wagon or another way to get the bags home. Some days they can be a little heavy!
*If we run out, we will try to make a post on our Facebook page as quickly as possible.
